Dancing that welcomes all ages, all levels!

My love of dance started at age nine and has continued for the next four decades. I started teaching dance in the mid-seventies. I have found that my favorite dance venues are the ones that welcome all ages, all levels of dancers and a variety of dance music including the classics and contemporary tunes.

Recently, I discovered the Orange County West Coast Swing Dance Club. They meet every Sunday in a large dance hall in Orange County. It's a large spacious venue with a mix of ages and levels of dancers. They offer a short warm up dance lesson before the open dancing starts. I really enjoyed the music mix, which included both classics and contemporary tunes; blues, soul, pop and hip hop. They periodically took breaks from West Coast swing and played Night Club Two Steps, Hustles and Country Two Steps. A couple of times a month they run Jack & Jill dance contests for novice, intermediate, advanced and masters competitors but also include interesting twists like a mixed age Jack & Jill or mixed level.

In my years of dancing and dance teaching in San Diego, California, I've learned to change and evolve with the changing dance styles and music, so I can continue to enjoy dancing with each upcoming generation of dancers and offer updated dance lessons to my dance students and instructors. I'm glad I learned this lesson early, it has made all the difference in the dance world!

My goal is provide dance lessons in San Diego including dance classes, private dance lessons, dance practice parties and events for dancers of all ages and levels in San Diego, California! It is my goal to continue to provide affordable dance instruction, limited repeat for the necessary repetition and creative methods so that everyone who wants to take dance classes is able to through our Trade for Lessons program, 1/2 price for Full Time college students, frequent discounted dance classes and lessons.

We hope to start a Collegiate Dance Program and a Dancesport division in the late part of 2011! It is especially important to me that my dance studio provides a venue that is beginner friendly and enjoyable for accomplished dancers as well, because part of the magic of dancing is the incredible diversity of people, all ages, nationalities, cultures, careers and education.
